Are you currently looking for a full time SEN teacher post in Greater London starting at either Easter or September 2016?

Previous experience of working as an SEN teacher in a specialist school is preferable though not essential for this position as you will be well supported with training. As an SEN teacher you will be working with a small class of 6 – 8 pupils with SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties) or PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties). Typically as an SEN teacher in an SLD/PMLD class you will have the support of a minimum of 3 Learning Support Assistants per class so that the students receive the best education possible. The pupils at these schools are functioning at low P levels so experience teaching SLD/PMLD or a passion for SEN and good teaching experience and knowledge of the EYFS framework would be beneficial.

The ideal SEN teacher will have:

– Experience of working with children with complex special needs (SEN) in a specialist setting
– Some recent experience teaching children with SLD or PMLD
– The ability to adapt and develop creative techniques to bring lessons to life and bring the best out of pupils
– A good work ethic, calm presence in the classroom, patience and a willingness to learn
– Working knowledge of PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)
