On behalf of Nike, we are currently looking for Legal Counsel Business Services Europe, to be based at their European HQ in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

In this role, you review, draft and negotiate a wide-range of agreements and documents relating to commercial transactions involving Nike’s European business.

You are responsible for advising and counselling business managers within Nike and the affiliate brands (Converse and Hurley) on a wide-range of legal issues and regulatory matters associated with their commercial operations, with an emphasis on EU and national competition laws, sales and distribution laws, distribution strategies and the structuring and implementation of complex business transactions.

The role reports into the Managing Attorney, Business Services Nike Europe, based in the Nike Europe Headquarters, near Amsterdam.

Requirements

You have an LLM (preferably in EU law) from a European university. You will have at least 9 years of commercial legal experience gained in both private practice (with a leading competition law practice) and as an in-house counsel. The private practice experience, along with the competition law experience are a key requirement. You have in-depth knowledge of EU/national competition laws and experience in general business law, with a focus on anti-trust, distribution, IT and IP transactions.

You are able to provide strategic guidance to an international business and handle complex legal issues. Business fluency in English is essential; working knowledge in any other European language is strongly preferred.
