An outstanding SEN school in South West London is looking for an experienced Primary teacher, who has a good knowledge of SEN to join their hard working team.

This is an outstanding SEN school in South West London that caters for children with ASD, moderate and severe learning difficulties. The class you will be working with consists of 8 to 10 pupils with a range of needs. The support this school offers is excellent, the successful candidate will be assisted by two experienced LSA’s who will in the classroom at all times.

Primary teachers who are looking to work in SEN schools are encouraged to apply as the Secondary pupils will be functioning at Primary levels, most are at P levels to Level 2. Teachers who have previously taught Early Years and KS1 would really suit this role.

It is desirable that you have worked in an MLD/SLD school previously, however this is not essential. The school receives around £40k a year for free school meals through pupil premium and they have also invested heavily in a Speech and Language Therapy team and Occupational Therapists who work with pupils to target their individual speaking, listening, motor and sensory needs through targeted intervention.

Pupils’ speech and language skills and sensory needs will be targeted individually, in small groups and in whole-class sessions according to individual needs and functional and curriculum-based topics. Goals will be set at the beginning of the block of therapy and monitored throughout their sessions so that progress can be monitored.

The school also offers excellent CPD so you can continue to grow and develop as a teacher. The school also boasts excellent resources and all of the classrooms are well equipped after a recent refurbishment. This school has a real family feel to it, with staff retention being high.

This role will begin in September and it will run for the whole academic year; however this could be made a permanent contract for the right person.
