Netherlands: Deputy Director
ORGANIZATION AND CONTEXT
Microjustice4All (MJ4All) is a The Hague / Netherlands based, international organization, dedicated to legally empowering the poor and excluded. By providing people with legal documentation and practical legal solutions, enabling them to live under the shelter of the law and enjoy the protection and opportunities it affords, MJ4All helps them to get out of the poverty cycle and/or rehabilitated after a disaster. Through the provision of legal documentation, practical legal solutions, awareness-raising, local capacity building and evidence-based lobbying, MJ4All aims to enable all people to participate in society and encourages them to be self-reliant.
MJ4All is dedicated to help set up local infrastructures for legal service provision worldwide (MJ4All Country Organizations) that provide legal services in order to obtain basic legal documents and legal protection, with a clear focus on:
1) civil documents: birth certificates and other documents regarding personal identity, enabling access to education, health services, social benefits, microfinance and voting etcetera;
2) documents relating to property and housing: property registration for legal protection and access to a loan among others; property transfer, rental issues etcetera;
3) documents and issues relating to income-generating activities: setting up businesses, cooperatives and other legal entities; employment contracts and other basic labor issues;
4) documents and issues relating to family law and inheritance matters;
5) documents and issues relating to specific geographic context and situations like post-war/natural disasters, refugee crises and environmental issues. MJ4All services are fundamental in a post-war or natural disaster rehabilitation for rebuilding the livelihood of the victims.
Currently, MJ4All runs operations with MJ4All Country Organizations in Latin America (Bolivia and Peru), Africa (Kenya and Rwanda) and Europe (former Yugoslavia: Serbia/Croatia), and is seeking to expand its MJ4All Network and operations worldwide. The MJ4All team, which implements this mission, consists of a founding director, a team of consultants/advisors and volunteers, mainly in the countries of operation.
