Linux Project Engineer – Amsterdam – To €48.000 + car allowance + benefits

An exciting new opportunity for experienced Linux Specialists to join a highly successful and growing company based in Amsterdam. The employer is seeking three Linux Project Engineers and can offer a starting salary of between €30,000 – €48,000 + car allowance + benefits.


This employer specialise in developing high performance Linux cluster solutions for customers in the scientific community across Europe and are now seeking three Linux Engineers to install, configure and test new solutions at client sites. These roles will also involve providing technical support, analysing and resolving technical issues as well as client training.


Applicants should have in-depth Linux skills at systems administration level and be comfortable troubleshooting, tweaking and tuning Linux kernel. Applicants should have experience of scripting in Perl, Bash or PHP and be familiar with a variety of Linux distributions, ideally including GNU. Experience with high performance computing technologies is not essential however prior exposure to areas such as parallel programming, MPI, SGE, LDAP, PBS, NFS, PXE, Lustre, GPFS, FhGFS, Ganglia or Nagios would be beneficial. Applicants must be fluent in English, additional skills in French and/or German would be beneficial too. These role require travel, predominantly within Europe and so applicants should expect to be on client sites one week in every four.
