Within DSP, the BU Drug Products aims to move forward in the supply chain by developing and launching Finished Dosages (FD) for both its existing product portfolio as well as its new products in scope.

The Role

The overall purpose of the job is to proactively identify and manage legal risks and liabilities in external and internal agreements and products and related projects within BU DP by:

• Acting as in-house counsel in reviewing, drafting and negotiating external (and internal) agreements;



• To support the business strategy and business operations by giving proactive, professional, and competent legal support and advice, acting as a trusted and value adding business partner;



• To support managing the (legal) risks connected with and/or resulting from business strategy and operations;



• To support the compliance of any and all business operations with relevant laws and regulations;



• To support the creation and maintenance of awareness of business employees for (compliance with) relevant laws and regulations;



• To actively support the DSP Code of Business Conduct as well as the DSP Legal Requirements;

General/Corporate/Legal Affairs

• To assist the General Counsel and Secretary to the Board of Directors;

Key Requirements

• Work experience of minimum 5 years as an in house counsel at an international company and/or with a background in a top private law firm, including advising/interacting with top management on strategic legal issues.



• Preferably experience in the (generic) pharmaceutical industry. But applicants from a similar industry will actively be considered.



• Experience in general (international) contract law (commercial contracting) and intellectual property rights. Knowledge of competition law is highly advantageous



• Strong commercial acumen is a fundamental prerequisite



• Good understanding of business models and strategy; affinity with business needs.



• Good judgment and decisiveness.



• Good planning and organization.



• Team player but also flexible and independent.



• Gravitas and leadership skills, and focus on closing deals and issues



• Ability to influence top leaders
