Linux Systems Engineer – Amsterdam

Darwin recruitment is looking for a Senior Linux Engineer for a


client in Amsterdam. This organization is a multinational and


focuses on multiple businesses: online marketing, branding


strategies, telecommunications, IT and more! In this role you are


responsible for effective provisioning, installations,


configurations, day-to-day operations and maintenance.


Additionally, you will work in multidisciplinary teams to


continually enhance the infrastructure (hardware, operating


systems, databases and related processes) to make sure all business


procedures run smoothly.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Day to day maintenance of Linux systems, plus analysis,
  
  
  designs, development, integration and testing of new features



• Set-up operational concepts, including vendor
  
  
  participation



• Provide systems documentation and specification



• Work on projects in multidisciplinary teams: designing,
  
  
  training programs and support



• Perform mission, functional, cost-benefit and risk
  
  
  analysis



• Run a 24×7 production data center environment

Requirements

• 5 or more years’ experience in a similar role: Linux
  
  
  Administrator or Linux Engineer



• Experience with RedHat, CentOS, Apache web servers, Tomcat,
  
  
  Puppet, Zabbix, RPM



• Also familiarity with basic network designs



• And technologies as: DNS, NTP, LDAP, SMTP, HTTP, SSL, etc.



• RHCE certification is a plus



• Fluent English speaking
