VMA GROUP: Public Affairs Specialist

We are looking for a Public Affairs specialist for our client in the eastern part of the Netherlands (mid). The core focus of the role is to ensure a basis of trust on strategic files with municipalities and provinces. Extensive public affairs experience in complex environments is required and the ability to adapt quickly to new technological and energy issues.

Within the role of Public Affairs specialist you will work in a small team of public affairs specialists. The core focus are municipalities and provinces in a highly technological environment in the energy sector. It is a strong advantage if you are able to understand the technologically complex environment quickly. You will maintain relationships with the shareholders and the board of directors.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Briefing/advising the board of directors on strategic issues



• Ensuring all shareholders are up to date and fully briefed



• Building and maintaining the network of municipalities and provinces



• Identifying key issues and developing the strategy align with the corporate vision 



• Active involvement with the communications team to improve overall corporate reputation



• Publishing relevant issues on intranet and ensuring employees are aware

Key requirements:

• Extensive/senior experience in public affairs



• Positive attitude and ability to motivate others



• Ability to build and maintain a relevant network 



• Knowledge of the communications field



• Affinity with technological and energy environment



• Capability to translate complex issues into understandable information for all relevant stakeholders

Relevant knowledge of the technological/energy sector is not necessary but considered an advantage.
