Springer Nature is looking for a seasoned Strategy & Market Intelligence Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will champion efforts to support strategic planning and business growth by developing and executing research activities, including analysing the market and competitive environment, identifying and assessing new business opportunities, as well as leading cross-functional projects in support of strategy and business development initiatives.
Initiatives vary from short-term market investigations to long-term analyses focused on evaluating competitive threats, market trends and growth opportunities. Additionally, this individual will work on senior level strategy discussions and provide insights based on the ability to “connect the dots” across Springer Nature’s Research businesses and related market trends. The Senior Strategy & Market Intelligence Manager will join a professional, talented, and diverse team to work on projects that are essential to helping Springer Nature achieve its ambitious strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic market analysis, including market sizing, segmentation and penetration studies; monitor industry and competitive trends and assess the implications to Springer Nature
- Maintain extensive knowledge of Springer Nature’s Research businesses and position in the market
- Identify new and compelling growth opportunities through analysis of customer needs, market potential and competitive landscape
- Advance innovative strategies to accelerate Springer Nature’s top line growth and market leadership presence
- Establish credibility and develop positive relationships with key stakeholders within the organization; collaborate with colleagues in other functions to ensure alignment and knowledge transfer
Requirements:
- Advanced degree or MBA required
- Experience in a strategy / management consulting firm or corporate development / strategy division of a multi-national company; knowledge of STM publishing industry a plus
- Superior analytical and problem solving skills, ability to “deep dive” into the details with the highest degree of accuracy, while staying focused on the big picture
- Experience in framing, conceptualizing, analysing and solving complex business problems
- Strategic and critical thinker with an analytical flair
- Capacity to work collaboratively as well as independently with cross-functional teams; strong relationship building skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and influence
